Money talks, ask Trump. :0)

untitled, oh my goodness!  Nothing like claiming the high moral ground for no discernible reason - but it's irrelevant to the OP.  I'm still waiting for someone to explain the logic to me.  Any offers?

I shouldn't worry gully, Hunt and his 100k will be Vaporized. :0)

Hunt is now saying that he will stay as Chancellor in the election and beyond.. That is his intention at least. But a lot of his fellow MPs think different to him as 58 Con MPs have given their notice in and are standing down at the next GE.

Just a thought ...... does gulliver1 really think Government will be any different under Labour and Special K?

Exactly carucoocoo!

his donation is i suspect less about retaining his seat and more about securing favours from the party, perhaps buying support for the coming leadership contest if he intends to stand or alternatively a cheeky peerage

nobody gives money like that to a party without expectinh something like that... especially not a reptile like hunt

I wonder how long before Boris starts waving his chequebook in the hope of getting his foot back in the door. :0)

Thought Bozo was broke?

He is, but why let that get in the way of a rant?

He’ll get that back a twice more through the back door.

Boris isn't broke.  He earned £5million in the first six months after leaving office.

Have you figured out where I can find a smidgeon of logic in your OP yet, Gulliver?

Johnson broke? I should be that skint.

You should be as witty as Gulliver, Douglas.  See his headline?  How clever is that?!   Nearly swearing!  So nawty - and getting away with it.  😂

i dont get what's so hard to understand about the post.

JH has (apparently but without a link who knows) given 100k to the conservative party.  G is speculating it's because  more money for the party mayhelp them do better in the election, and JH will have a better shot at retaining his seat.  but G thinks he's stupid as he's onto a loser.

That doesnt explain how it will encourage the electorate to actually vote for him.  If he's in danger of losing his seat, I can't see how donating to the Conservative Party will change that.

i thought it's well known that parties who have more to spend on advertising (perhaps persuading those who're undecided, or know nothing about a party's policies) are likely to do better surely? Otherwise why would spending be limited in an election

"If he's in danger of losing his seat, I can't see how donating to the Conservative Party will change that"

that's what the OP is saying (i think)

Hmmm .... more leaflets in his constituency could  work.

there are plenty of people who couldnt really give a flying turd about politics.  If they received communications through their door, via facebook or insta, or by the TV saying "I will give more money to schools"¬ and they want more money given to their school, they may think ok i'll vote for them
