I Wonder Why This Number Is Rising So...

This is all over the news tonight but I'm genuinely not sure what the story is.

the report is here

after being knifed in the back by andie over judicial precedent ( Jesus, such ignorance) and shoot to kill, and naming Chris Kaba's shooter - I read all 212 pages
dont bother - it is interim
I am trying to make these posts mod proof
and so.... Boucher says what a hard life HE has had
He names ALL the preceding reports into collusion between NI authorities and terrorists (UVF) (*) and running rogue agents
all duds including my fave - Stalker - yes that far back
all ruined - the inspectors that is who tried to Find Out in good faith - including him. "I expected to be appted XYZ and so in effect I wd be presenting this report to myself. This has not occurred" - whoopsie ! death to honest p'licemen
was scappaticci Stakeknife _ see Ben Kinglsy 50 dead men walking
is he dead? - - o god it isnt like that is it? yes it is
Everyone lies - abolutely everyone - that includes ex-ministers ( " I knew notting") when they obviously did
MI5( full of queers) lied and sabotaged RUC intelligence efforts ( fulll of stupid irish bog-trotters) and lied a bit more (loose cannons). They said things were secret so secret when they were just avoidable cack ups
RUC was full of liars ( Deffo under MI5 - they are to blame!)
" we have lost all the records" - oops no here they are - Boucher draws a parallel with undercover policing and no oversight and then destruction of records.
BUT MI5 kept records of all contacts with the RUC -so when they lied ( we didnt seem to keep any records so there arent any to give you. sozza. anything else? door over there.) - there were.
Boucher was told it probably wdnt be released - and then it wd be cennsored - He refused the redactions
"If he brought the terrorist bastrads of the IRA down this geezer should be awarded every honour going."
He was paid handsomely it seems at the time: it also seems he had a penchant for danger and excitement. The issue as investigated by Kenova was more about the extent his handlers refused to act on some of what he passed on. All very murky: you could see why they wanted to protect their source but it seems more lives were sacrificed than saved
scappaticci ( about whom there is v litte) was paid £80k per year. The elephant in the room is the men he betrayed ( lots) were IRA men and the ones he saved ( few) .
Boucher said they were all people and their families deserved the Truth. But now, after 20y - what is truth? ( thanks to pontius pilate for that one).
For Ynni: one man was paid a lorra lorra lu-lu.
Not a good situation in any way. But it occurs to me that had he not been involved with the murders some other low life would be; so he didn't effect those activities. But if he supplied useful information for other occasions and it was acted upon, that would still be a plus. Just a pity he couldn't have found something to close the whole lot down.
saved ( few) were army and police. No attempted balance is drawn. they are all men and have families that wish to know what happened
You can see a Truth and Recon commission looming.
Boucher himself is burnt out and says that they put an honest man in charge ( Boucher, himself) and so many important and ex-important men lied to him, he is giving up.
Sort of like Lord Stevens told him ( dont do it) but without the Lordship and Very Large Pension.
For Ynni: someone called Boucher printed a book.
Freddie Scappaticci only survived because the IRA were too embarrased to murder him. Awkward questions would have been raised as to how their Internal Security Unit had been compromised for years.
There were almost certainly other highly placed agents within the IRA. Martin McGuiness only ever served one short prison sentence and literally got away with murder for decades. Just saying.
