The main complaints appear to centre around hospital services but in my experience GP services are far worse.   Unless you turn up at A&E and clog up an already over-burdened department even more, you need to speak to a GP to be referred to hospital - and that in itself is a major hurdle.  The hospitals don't seem to me to be doing such a bad job, but the GP services are utterly abysmal.   Would you concur with the people who were surveyed - or is your experience different?

Do nothing wont fix it do you mean. Anyhow we've been down this road many times before, and it continues to be full of potholes that the government are more than happy to see grow larger while they just pay attention to their own greedy ends. Gone fishing🤣

Maybe it depends on the area: we have always had outstanding care from clinic and hospitals

I have previously said that I am very fortunate in having a GP surgery where appointments or calls are arranged within a very short time (same day sometimes) but others in the same building are not so good.  I have no complaints about two very brief hospital visits where obviously busy staff were attentive and pleasant.  However, I did find that receipt of x-ray/scan results took a long time (as an out-patient), having had to wait six weeks for the result.  It would seem from dates on the letter, that secretarial staff were maybe in short supply, thus delaying results being sent out, as the Consultant had dictated the letter two days after my scan!

No I do not concur with the OP or the people surveyed - my experience is very different.

It's the system rather than the GP. Can't even recall who my GP is. The surgery has a number of them, and all you ever see is a locum anyway. I reckon GPs must be forever out at institutional events or something.

Loads of gp surgeries closing round our way one not too far from us is only opening one day a week starting on Monday 1st April. 
Our local hospital was an A E 24hrs since pandemic it changed to minor ailments. Now it is closed from 7pm until 7am. Anything needed you have to travel 30 miles one way or 40 the other wa just shocking how things have changed as someone said better treated back in the 50s by gp services than we are now.

Its not a geat situation is it. You need a doctor and many can't get one, you need hospital treament and again many can't get that all important time framed treament.

You can carry on complaining until the cows come home, but unless you direct your complaints in the right direction the above will continue to get even worse. 

With respect most people who are complaining are completely missing the underlying problem that we have. Doctors and nurses whether they work in a local surgery or hospital want to see you and want to address whatever ailment you may have. Doctors and nurses retire like they do in any profession, and there are less and less climing the ladder to fill their shoes.

A lot of medical students come from wealthy backgrounds? families who are able to support them financially while training. The less well off students struggle and end up in debt or have no choice but to drop out competely, why? lack of government support) the ones that do make it through are then faced with a few years of debt to pay off, and that debt will be a massive struggle on low pay, and a struggle just to live and pay normal bills that we all have to pay.

The low pay does not reflect or indeed reward the effort or help pay the debt taken on by the student. On top of all the above they are then faced with the massive stressful day to day moutain of patients because of the shortage of medical professionals.

Lets just simplyfly it very much so I know. If a Tesco store requied at least 20 checkout assistants and could only muster up 5 then all the customers in that store would be queuing up at those 5 checkouts for service. Hence those 5 staff would be worked into the ground on a daily basis and the quality of that service would sooner or later become very poor due to being over worked. The over working and poor pay ends up in the workers striking. 

Whatever way you look at the above, IT IS  only government that can put this problem right, but at this moment they choose not too.

If everone in this country had private medical insurance the problem of getting to see a doctor or treatment would still be a problem, because fully trained medical staff are either leaving this country for better pay, or leaving the profession altogether. So the next time you do have problems getting the help you need, ITS NOT the doctors or nurses at fault here its on the shoulders of this government.

Anyone who is suffering has my greatest sympathy and I do hope you do get the treatment you need, but try not to kick the medical staff that we still have, because the more you do the more that will throw the towel in. Gone fishing!

The problem with hospitals is the waiting lists, and I think that's most people's complaint.

Once you get there the service is great, at least in my experience.

The GP service has become ridiculous. You have to do this lottery thing of phoning at 8 am to be one of the lucky winners to see if a GP might phone you back at some point. It's why people turn up at A&E. At least you know you'll be seen, even if you have to wait a while.

Then i wounder where the so called millions that this government suposed to have pumped into GP phone tec. I dare say the money has gone adrift somewhere else??
