I didn't see or hear any spoof stories. :(  Most disappointing.  Oh for the days of Richard Dimbleby's spaghetti tree!  I believed it, being v. young, but my parents were engaged in debate about it.

Jourdain  - It's much harder to fool a more aware and sophisticated audience than it was in RD' day.

Then, if he said it, on the BBC, it was one step down from Moses receiving the tablets.

Great idea though!

I remember Richard and Judy demonstrating a translation device 20 odd years ago - they spoke English in to it and the device spoke the phrase in other languages using their voices.

The developer of this marvelous gadget was a scientist, Dr Joe King 😀

I think the real joke is that most mobile phones are capable of doing something similar today.  Who'd have thought?

 

I thought they just didnt have the heart considering the state the world is in.

I note NO services from Jerusalem - you know like that was where Jesus was crucified innit? which was the orthodox churches  saying ah forget it - nothing to celebrate....

perhaps they don't like the flexible dating?

By law, in Britain, Easter Sunday is the first Sunday after the second Saturday in April. It's just that, after nearly a century, nobody's yet enforced the law.
