It's odd how Tory apologists always defend their Party by stating Labour are as bad/worse. That is totally irrelevant, but I suppose as their own party's activity is usually indefensible, all they can offer is a smear of the others.

But two wrongs don't make a right.

not true canary I said he was a plonker. The point is that anything like this has examples across the house.

Question Author

It was gully (?) who raised the issue of party - expect others to respond in kind.

Davebro 09.06 He was ("stupid enough to indulge in peurile behaviour (exposing himself") That was his problem .Just like Chris Pincher did... another Tory MP.

the language on this thread  - - - beggars belief... - I am surprised there arent wholesale threats about this. I think he should go NOW.

real head shaking ( no! no!) head in hands stuff - what did Rishi do when he was told? - - um pray to Vishnu?

at least he did 'it' on lline

there was one MP who fondled men in a gentlemen's club. They were no gentlemen and dobbed him in....

big taboo about gays outing closet queens - Paddick and Jimmy Edwards were unlucky

Numpties of all political persuasions exist.  This man, however, isn't a numpty.  He's an absolute disgrace.

Then there was Scott of the Arsantics!

Homosexuals in governance have always been a security risk and vulnerable to blackmail.. Lessons have not been learnt as usual.

If a gay member of the house proudly stands and announces his proclivities during his maiden speech surely the chances of blackmail are much diminished.

I have to say as one of the Great and Good (in bed), not me him - he was slow to realise he was being blackmailed

One of my neighbours' frenz 'found' Colleen Rooney's lost phone and 'negotiated' a £2000 return fee. Arrested and indicted for blackmail. (My neighbour then said, they rang me up and said they had met you ( in court) and I have been very careful about the criminal underworld since then)

sozza Very Careful ....

That is true Sandy but there are people who are Bi and may well be in a hetro marriage with kids.  In addition with certain communities beinggay is still taboo, no matter what the law says you cant change peoples way of thinking (Even if the SNP think they can)

This bloke was a complete idiot thouh. Good riddence.

I still don't think he was a numpty. Millions of people get scammed because they get things wrong. What this one really did wrong was handing out his colleagues' contact details when plainly he should have gone to the police.

//What this one really did wrong was handing out his colleagues' contact details when plainly he should have gone to the police.//

Which is what makes him a numpty.

tomus, no, that's much worse than a numpty, imo. It depends on your definition, I suppose: the first one that comes up is "a stupid or ineffectual person", but he wasn't that: he was cowardly and treacherous.

OK, I misunderstood. I thought you were defending him, but yes, he's worse than a numpty.

The problem is in the question. It should have said 'treacherous cowards like this are running the country'. Beggars belief.

I was saying that falling for an online scam doesn't make you a numpty - millions do it; the digital world is hard to navigate safely. Even today, Israel's top spy boss has managed accidentally to reveal his own identity

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/05/top-israeli-spy-chief-exposes-his-true-identity-in-online-security-lapse

It's what happened after the blackmail that's really disturbing.
