THAT expt was repeated in the eighties ( Italy made it unlawful to admit to a psych facility, and to er everyone's surpise the prisons filled quite quickly ( subito subito avanti etc)

Apparently the only interaction with NSW police the perpetrator had prior to this atrocity was "move along please" because he was sleeping where he wasn't allowed to.

And he complied.
