oddly enough "Plonker" does have a surprising original meaning beyond it's OFAH usage.

You'd sound a bit of a plonker if you called someone a plonker now. I like the word. It's got a touch of amiable affection.

pepys commenting on Charles II erm that one -  called it a membrum virile

The king had a biggie apparently and THAt was why it was itchy ( 1663 it was)

plonker = membrum virile innit?

Wonder if he'd have sacrificed that head instead.

Your link didnt work for me.

soaring crime rates, and old fashioned insults are dying out mmmm plonkers nitwits...where's me washboard..have you seen it...

Thanks for the links guys.

The youngsters of today will have a load of insulting terms that the older generation don't understand.  Not that I am admitting to being old.😹

I still like the old insults - eejits is a personal favourite😁

I am pleased to say I know all the words. However, I am an old git...

1. Lummox (62%)
2. Bampot (60%)
3. Blighter (54%)
4. Ninny (51%)
5. Cad (47%)
6. Drip (42%)
7. *** (36%)
8. Toe rag (34%)
9. Pillock (33%
10. Plonker (25%)
11. Nitwit (27%)
12. Prat (25%)
13. Scallywag (26%)
14. Git (26%)
15. Numpty (22%)

does bampot mean anything to anyone south of Watford? Does blighter mean anything to anyone born after the war? I'm surprised that cad is vanishing, though.

I think that bampot has more recently been reduced to bam ( like *** to ***)

T *****t to ***

??? 🤔

In Scot's a 'wee blighter' is a naughty child

er, thank you Toorak!

WASSOCK is one I use

I like 'cretin', hope that one doesn't die out :)
