A Knighthood On The Horizon?

The king was too busy to meet Prince Harry last week but not for David Beckam whom he invited to Highgrove to learn more about The King’s Foundation, a charity he set up in 1986.  The prince is said to have snubbed his one-time friend David recently but the king and Beckham who have met previously have bonded over their shared hobby of bee-keeping.   A new and prestigious post awaiting Beckham - with possibly a knighthood attached eventually?

I like David Beckham - and even more since he queued for hours with everyone else to pay his respects to the late Queen.  The words 'Do you know who I am?', used by so many in the public eye to gain priority over others,  don't appear to be part of his vocabulary.  Arise Sir David!

He wouldn't be visiting the King about a knighthood though. They are dished out by committees and recipients don't have audience with the King beforehand.

They didn't meet to discuss a knighthood.  They met to discuss the King's Foundation charity.  I'm sure the king could put a good word in for him though.  ;o)

The King probably watched Beckham on Netflix, which we've both now seen twice & I confess to a tear in the eye on both occasions. 

David has done more for British prestige (which is not his job) than Harry ever has (which is really his job).
