god what is wrong with AB - not many prime ministers have been shot this week,

and no comment ( xc mine) - perhaps the mods have bludgeoned any news hound into silence, as it is obvious an unmimsy subject

attack on the PM is an attack on democracy - it is oo-er time in the East....( all parts)

thank you. I have no idea why a bit about anaesthetising a long op and then doing a  cardiac op the next day ( oo-er!) has been flushed down the loo-loo. It strikes me - as a comment on how dangerously ill the P.M is....

It's not 'teasing', it's disruptive and offensive to people trying to keep the site running smoothly.

Haven't ready any posts yet - but, yes, PP, I looked earlier  (about 5p.m.) and was surprised at the silence.  I can't do links so didn't want to start a thread myself and I'm only just back.  Possibly everyone else was busy.

It is an important event - no matter what his politics he is the first EU P.M.  to suffer an assassination event isn't he? I think the conclusion to be drawn is that matters are polarising dangerously in Europe as well as in so many other areas of the world. OH and I see so many danger signals repeated from hisory- as do others I know.

Retrocop, I know that you won't object if I pray tonight that the surgeon won't be hung-over tomorrow. :)

Probably should have been less surprising than it has been. Even in a nation that claims to be democracy government can only ignore public demands for so long. As I understand it the victim was rather Russia leading, and that seems to have been unpopular. When even the pensioners reckon they've nothing to lose, then there's a problem.

i didn't even know who the slovak prime minister was before i heard the news... could it have been because of his opposition to aid for ukraine?

god the local general hospital got him - to ill  to move ( = they thought he was gonna croak - a bit  like Boris and Covid - they didnt  wait for an  an ambulance)

I wonder what they will do post op - keep and ventilate ( stay and play) or  pass off to a regional centre ( = anywhere, poop and  scoop)
