They won't have any problem finding equally abyssmal replacements.

Oh dear, how sad.

Now whats for lunch.

I'd never heard of him before, but now I have, he sounds like he was a bit of a shothouse.

'Why was Raisi – nicknamed the ‘butcher of Tehran’ – so critical a figure in the Iranian political firmament? He was elected president in 2021, and was one of the hardest of the hardliners in Tehran, a true believer in the Iranian revolution. He played a critical and prominent role in the crushing of the ‘woman, life, freedom’ protests that have recently rocked Iran, and amounted to one of the most serious challenges to those in power in years.'

The Spectator

Some mistake surely: according to the professor from Tehran interviewed on the radio earlier he was a popular figure with the poor and oppressed and played a leading role in the 1980s in bringing to justice the terrorists from Iraq sponsored by the UK who killed thousands blah blah blah.

He had no ambition to become supreme leader of the country when Khamenei shuffles off. That's just western propaganda 😀.

Well it's certainly not going to happen now: and the foreign minister died too, as an added bonus.

I thought it was Khamanei who went around the prisons, demanding that the crims therein that he had selected, were summarily hanged.

what has always made me laugh hem hem was that in 1979 Kate Millett American feminist so mistook the nature of freedom after the revolution

that she went to Tehran to assist the  ladies in their liberation - and got deported !

Not a dry eye in the house!

Probably true for a fair few houses in Iran too TTT.

Sadly though the next despot will be wheeled in and probably be worse, although he (It certainly wont be a she) has some stiff competition.

Shouldnt it be 'popped their sandals'?!

Will Israel be blamed?

Israel denies responsibility.  I'll shed no tears.

It seems to be accepted it was flying in thick fog.

Although, who flies a chopper in thick fog in mountains.

The search and rescue people were certainly working in thick fog. The footage on this morning's news confirmed that.

probly following his satnav

Isis has claimed responsibility, though whether that is any more reliable than Israel disclaiming it, who can tell.

Probably a pilot who was too scared to defy his master's wishes. Don't forget Allah be with them. (or not it seems)

Surely Allah would have been looking out for them? Must have been at lunch.

Should have gone by Ryanair.

Last heard shouting 'Ali's Snackbar'

it's not impossible that his own government bumped him off. perhaps they were not best pleased about his performance.

sorry but i find it highly unlikely these deaths were accidental.
