the ICC prosecutor said: 

"No foot soldier, no commander, no civilian leader - no one - can act with impunity." The law, he says, cannot be applied selectively.  If that happens, "we will be creating conditions for its collapse"."

an excellent and principled statement that is very difficult to disagree with. is there hope for the rules-based order yet?

Anyway, what's Jesus or Mohamed got to do with anything? I repeat, Jews and arabs have been attacking each other for thousands of years and will continue to do so, no matter who the main leaders are.

No they haven't - Arab Muslims have attacked Jews consistently  for one & a half centuries; their religion in fact instructs them to do so. 

Jews defend themselves in a continual existential struggle.

In 1946/7 the Jews accepted a 2 party state for Israel but the Arabs would nor accept the plan and set about attempting to totally annihilate them. 

The Jews are now fighting for their life.

because the occupied territories are (against their will) part of israel and have been since 1967. earlier this century a different israeli government established a palestinian-controlled administration for parts of that territory, but they are still under israeli sovereignty. if they are going to insist on occupying the west bank and gaza then they have obligations to the citizens who do not want them there.

your video shows people swarming aid trucks because they are hungry. you would do the same, as would i. the reason they are hungry is because the amount of aid permitted to enter gaza has massively slowed down. such small quantities of food as are allowed are admitted through one point of entry in the south--very little of it reaches the north where famine conditions are setting in. you cannot simply assert that young gazan men are "hamas". gaza had a population of millions before october (no idea what it is now).

Untitled; That conditions in Gaza are bad, isn't news. It is entirely the fault of Hamas & could have been ended months ago, and still could be, all they need do is surrender.

They don't give a toss for the starving.

What responsibility is Hamas bearing for the situation the people are facing in Gaza?  As far as I can see, none, but no one who supports their cause mentions that.  Have they given up the hostages? No.

i don't disagree on the latter part... i have no love for hamas. but try to think objectively about what would happen to them if they surrender. you can't surrender if an opponent won't accept surrender.

because they wish to exchange them for hostages held by israel. hamas did actually agree a timetable for releasing hostages mediated by egypt and qatar a few weeks ago but israel refused
