a moderator recently told me that "insulting" behaviour would not be tolerated when i told another user that they "sounded like a nazi" but it would appear that it's quite acceptable to just call gulliver an idiot and tell him to shut up, which actually is nothing but name calling and goes against the site rules. why are the rules being enforced...

can be bothered must  be eds or mods about

I have but I wouldn't put a bet on it being removed.

There will be about the same number of MPs after the election - out of work staffers could get jobs with the newbies?

Last Friday on the final sitting in the Commons before the campaign kicked off .Many of these staff said it was like the end of school feeling, with people hugging and saying their goodbyes to each other.Like they may not be working with each other ever again after the general election.........They are probably right.

gulliver's posts are often so idiotic they're more likely to put people off voting Labour than convert anyone. Own goal again.

It feels like the end of an Era one staff member commented while buying a bottle of Prosecco at the reduced price staff parliamentary bar To say farewell to his ex work mates.

NMA 13.17 Don't forget what Maggie told you about insults ..OK.

Keep it up, you're doing a great job for Rishi - mind you he does need all the help he can get

NMA 13.22 I Don't think what I say or even any of my threads would persuade anyone to vote for Sunak.

Why all the derision over Gully's post.  There is no such thing as a job for life.  Can't remember any of them shedding crocodile tears when yet another factory or shop chain closed throwing thousands out of work.  Doubt if any of them will be signing on for their dole money.

Maggiebee 15.28. Must agree with you about the nasty replies I  am getting on this post. There is no need for it.

'There is no need for it'

Oh yes there is

Pantomime innit?

you need to take a long hard look at yourself. Less of the garbage and crap and more toned-down remarks and logic would do you a lot of favours. With the first two, you get up many folk's left nostrils and no wonder you get bombarded with insults.

a moderator recently told me that "insulting" behaviour would not be tolerated when i told another user that they "sounded like a nazi" but it would appear that it's quite acceptable to just call gulliver an idiot and tell him to shut up, which actually is nothing but name calling and goes against the Site Rules. why are the rules being enforced selectively?

the suggestion that we should feel sorry for the people gulliver describes is also rather odd... these are people who aspired to and achieved positions of power and influence and have caused huge amounts of harm to the people of this country with that power and influence. if they didn't wish to be held accountable for their cruelty and indifference then they should not have saught a career in politics. sorry but i don't think anyone should be obliged just because a few tories turn on the waterworks.

"surely gully should be suspended for this suicide comment"

why? he has not said that anyone should commit suicide. his exact words were "Some saying if they had have known about Sunak trying to commit suicide thet would have got out earlier"

commit suicide in this sentence obviously referring to sunak's surprise election announcement

what we have here is people ganging up on a poster because they don't like him and demanding that the moderators take their side. i wonder if they will!

3.28pm - false equivalence if ever there was one, but that aside, these's a yawning chasm of difference between what you describe and the gloating over the loss of jobs which Gulliver has done.

oh please "loss of jobs" lol. why should the staff of Tory MPs feel entitled to their positions? they all know how our system of government works, which is that you are cycled out when your MP loses election. they are just crying because they think they won't be at the top in a few months and aren't interested in working for MPs in opposition because they are less influential. i could not have less sympathy if i tried.

untitled: "they are just crying because they think they won't be at the top in a few months and aren't interested in working for MPs in opposition because they are less influential. i could not have less sympathy if i tried. " - how do you know they are "crying"? I suspect they know the score. There is no link to a story just some made up BS from the head trolsketeer so he can gob off some more.

gawd even gromit has spotted it.
