It's rigged to prevent Trump winning the election. It's so obvious it hurts!

^^

I really hope that you don't believe that.

That's the alternative, probably an even worse one if you think through all the implications. Starting off with the 12 men and women of the jury - are you really expecting the Republican Party to say that they were all corrupt? Every word of the court case has been broadcast, and that's the conclusion the jury came up with.

From a spokesperson

Donald Trump has always mistakenly believed he would never face consequences for breaking the law for his own personal gain," said Michael Tyler, the Biden-Harris campaign's communications director.

"The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater. He is running an increasingly unhinged campaign of revenge and retribution, pledging to be a dictator 'on day one' and calling for our Constitution to be 'terminated' so he can regain and keep power," he added.

"A second Trump term means chaos, ripping away Americans' freedoms and fomenting political violence - and the American people will reject it this November."

I can't grasp how a former president who will be defranchised because of his felon conviction can nevertheless run for president. The constitution must not have not conceived that such an outcome might be possible.

Sadly I think she or he does.

But anyway, he won't go to jail. That'd be too shameful for country (as if electing him in the first place wasn't).

The judge has a dilemma now. What sentence to impose. The situation is unprecedented.

136 years 😂

House arrest in mar a lago is  probably the best we can hope for.

community service. Do they still have chain gangs in New York?

his "idiot army" as someone called then aren't just going to vote for him. they are going to start killing people.

many of his champions are already calling for violence

The farce continues.

The depths the Democrats will sink to in order to retain power. A Putin-esk political prosecution that should worry everyone.

oh please "Putinesque" lol the evidence against him is all available publicly, he has the right of appeal and he has been treated humanely and given every opportunity to defend himself... putin's russia also does not use juries. you just like him and that's it.

He has been found guilty on all charges then Hymie as you predicted.

Melania can now get on with the rest of her life, leaving this sorry episode behind.

He ain't going to gaol. Too much hassle for authorities. It may, however, sway the floating voters to the view that another incompetent term with Biden is better than the embarrassment of having a head of state appealing his guilty verdict.

Like all criminals before him, he's not guilty yer magnitude! It want me wot dun it yer battleship. Er, yer warship. No, yer worship.

What amazes me is how many people have supported him, previously, and now, in the wake of this. Commentators reckon it will only embloden the Republican electorate, make it slightly easier for Biden, but strengthen the resolve Republicans.

What is it about him? It's almost Hitler-esque.

Foregone conclusion from the kangaroo court.

That court have just done him the biggest favour electorally- any other outcome would not have played into his rhetoric and will only reinforce his innocence in the minds of his supporters.

well the job of the jury is not to help or hinder his election but to establish whether or not he is guilty of a criminal offence... and he is. 34 actually.
