I Wonder Why This Number Is Rising So...

Just stop mentioning the last 14 years please. We all know how bad it was but it's gone now. Yes, some people are still suffering but it's all behind us. Give us another 5 years and we'll show you we can do the same. Ooops! Well according to Johnny Mercer we should all stop saying how garbage the Tories have been. So just stop it. And Vote Labour. 😂

Panic set it, "experts" saw an opportunuty, jobsworth school prefect types loved the bit of power they'd been given. The fact is that with hindsight many things could have been better but I have no doubt that abacus and cobstello would have been at least as inneffective probably worse. The lefties love to have a go and yes they have valid points but would their dream team have been any better? I doubt it.
I remember those experts well. I also remember none of their predictions being realised. I particularly remember one of the doom goblins in Nov 2020 saying a "scenario" was that we could have 50,000 deaths a month. I said at the time that another scenario is that we could have nothing like that number. And me, without a scientific bone in my body was , significantly more correct than the experts.
If it has taught us anything it is to concentrate on the economy should it happen again and not doom goblins.
Well, the moment Boris tried to reassure the nation that we would 'follow the science' re Covid - I knew we were doomed. I was furious then and am still very angry about lockdown.
Having let of steam, I fan my delicate features and continue regarding Reform. One poll, done just before Farage announced the changes in Reform and that he was standing, provided the startling info. that Reform had overtaken the Tories in the O.55 age-group. I wish I could remember where I saw it. If this is accurate - the Tories are in really deep trouble.
Their problem is that we oldies know how hard we have been hit and we no longer believe in 'jam tomorrow'. We look at the state of the country with the knowledge of how it was and could be - and despair.
I think we are in for the Hell of a Socialist government under Angela.
I've been watching the build-up and there was an SNP person who was an advisor to the truly dreadful Sturgeon, and the interviewer asked her why was the literacy rate in Scotland was lagging behind the other home nations.
Her answer was....wait for it....the Conservatives.
And there was me thinking there was a devolved Govt in Scotland who handles Scottish education.
