............during this election campaign. Right from the off, the Tories have done nothing but scaremongering about Labour, trying to frighten the bejeebus out of evryone. Last night was no different. If the prospect of a Labour govt is so scary, just think what another 5 years of Tory incompetence will be like. Cobblers.

And right from the off labour have offered nothing.  Labour are not going to win the TINO's will loose so they get it by default.

Lets be honest here, the West in general has let itself get into this mess where we have self serving politicians noses firmly in the trough paying lip service to democracy.

What a sorry state of affairs.

How about this for a start. Gordon Brown sold off our gold reserve, according to an analysis it has cost the country £21 billion.

Gordon Brown saved this country from becoming a banana republic with the action he took in the wake of the collapse of the sub-prime market in the USA. He saved jobs; he saved banks; he saved companies; he saved the economy. He was praised by other countries for the quick response to the collapse. The Tories would have done exactly the same. People should be grateful to Gordon Brown, not ignorant of the facts.

My God.  Really?

He has also devistatd Pensions with his tax raid and that is only now starting to show true devistation.  Con man.

Bottlers only good thing in my opinion is staying out fo the EUR, and for that I do thank him.

As for the Banks, he should have let them go to the wall - as I said at the time.

Bojo the Clown cost this country billions with his mis-management of Covid. It was all a big joke to him. He spent lots more than Gordon Brown.

Question Author

Gordon Brown was praised by lots of other finance ministers in other countries for his quick response to the financial crisis in 2008. He saved this country from financial meltdown. People don't like the fact that it was a Labour govt which did that. The Tories would have done exactly the same.

Anyway, the way this thread is going just demonstrates what I said in my OP. Scaremongering. 😊

It's not scaremongering.  If you really believe Starmer is going to work miracles without it costing dearly you really need to think a bit harder.

Sir Beer's grand plans will cost 10cs, he'll get the dosh from somewhere. Most tax is paid by low to average earners. If you are happy to stump up then great.

10ClarionSt, If you can'r bring yourself to read the link, here's the opening line.

"It was called one of the worst investment decisions of all time."

9.27 Who's Sir Beer?

Thanks for the replies folks. They definitely prove that I am correct. Thanks again! 😄

They dan scaremonger as much as they like, but the voting public have lived through the 8 years of Conservative incompetence, lying, financial malfeasance, social injustice, moral corruption and talentless amateurism.
When they come to vote, they will ask themselves, do I want a change? And a lot will answer - yes I do.

the problem is will they change they want be provided by Labour.  And I suspect the answer for many will be NO.

As I siad the West (its not just the UK) is in a right mess with little choice.

// the problem is will they change they want be provided by Labour.  And I suspect the answer for many will be NO. //

Labour are going to win the 2024 UK General Election.
