I agree with your thread title. Hopefully both will have to apologise and action will be taken, although I suspect one will get less grief than the other. I notice the Labour councillor also ended his speech by chanting Free Palestine.

I should be supporting these anti-racism protests but the name given to these protests is misleading- they generally seem to include pro-Palestine/anti Israel protestors and the "refugees welcome" banners put me off. We shouldn't attack and harass refugees but that's different to welcoming them- they are not welcome in my opinion unless they have applied and been accepted through proper channels.

I've just watched what the gay couple in Hartlepool got up to and ended up with 26 months each.

Steven Mailen is the first person to be sentenced in Teesside for his involvement in the violent disorder in Hartlepool on Wednesday 31st July. Judge Laird jailed him for 26 months. The 53-year-old was constantly in the face of officers gesticulating and shouting at them.

 

This councillor from Dartford can expect life.

26 months seems like a long sentence for'gesticulating and shouting'.  You can see the same any weekend near city centre pubs (or you could - I don't go near).  3 to 6 months would have fitted the bill - criminal offence logged and punished etc..

I can remember a couple of years ago Julia Hartley Brewer had a Labour MP on her show (I can't remember who) and JHB was making the reasonable point that the illegals were in a safe country in France. The MP just simply wouldn't have it and was getting more and more high pitched that these illegals were fleeing from their home countries for their lives.

 

The fact is, as soon as they cross a border to 'flee' for their lives they've already fled, and they most certainly fled once they've reached France. But she wouldn't have it.

 

There's a few on AB who refuse to get this fact as well.

It's not for speaking though, what he did was inciting murder far woese than some of the people locked up for shouting hurty words at plod.

The Government need to take a step back and start to understand the underlying issues.

Plod need to keep up the hard policing, but to ALL, so no joining any march, no cups of tea or softley softley for some 'preferred' protests.
