I'd also offer sthat there are several deserted airfields, barracks etc., which could be made more habitable and also secure at relatively low cost.  Non-violent prisoners could be housed there, leaving the more secure places free for those who warranted it.

There are over 10K foreign nationals in our jails(circa 12%) with each not only taking up space but also costing us 47K.  

So an easy win is to deprot them, and ensure borders are locked so they can tget back in.  Oh forgot S2TK and his ooman rights mates would probably not allow it.

We could also release the pensioners in there for not paying tv tax and some of the recent political prisoners S2TK Stasi put in there.

releasing TB non licence payer - seems like the way forward !

In 2020 and 2021, there were no admissions into prison associated with failing to pay a fine in respect of the non-payment of a TV licence in England and Wales.
