Lady Thatcher was extremely quick witted and razor sharp on her feet which is something that Boris is not.  Boris is good on paper though.  I do not think Khandro was intending this as an insult to Lady T.

It's a little embarrassing to see a man in his early 60's getting quite so het-up when he thinks someone has dissed his political heroine.

Boris writes well, he always has and apart from his brief forays into politics, his writing has been his (main) source of employment.

Just tuned in and .. wow!  mea culpa.  When I compared Boris' to Maggie's literary abilities, it wasn't meant as an insult to her. Boris is extremely erudite and were she around I think she would agree that he is the better writer by far. 

Boris has lived by his pen as a Brussels correspondent, editor of The Spectator, author and more. He is educated in, and loves the classics which he can and does quote freely.

I have read many examples of his abilities to express himself clearly in various sources, but  can't  remember anything to compare by her, she seemed to get by with sound-bites - which were most probably written for her.

I admire them both, for different reasons 🙂

Not to undermine Mrs Thatcher at all - she was without doubt a highly intelligent woman - but your argument doesn't hold water, TTT.  Barbara Cartland wrote 723 books.  Time to concentrate on the OP.
