I was gobsmacked to read that the Taliban have representatives there for Afghanistan.  Keir Starmer says he won't be speaking with them though.  I wonder who will?

Like-minded souls who have the fate of the planet uppermost in their minds of course. 🙄

Apparently leaders of  India, China, the US and the countries of the EU are not expected to attend which begs the question why did Starmer bother?

To set an example ?

Starmer went to virtue signal, and given all the International trips to keep away from being asked awkward questions at home.

Sir 2TK has apparently committed the UK to even more cuts so while the USA, China, India and many others (even Macron) look forward to a rise in living standards from oil the GRanny Harmer plunges the UK into economic disaster. The man is bonkers.

Apparetly the Taliban have said oil is Gods give to man.  So guessing their economy will be driving ahead too.

And of course loads of private jets and 50K travelling to it to preach to us we shouldnt take our annual trip to Spain for a holiday.

Odious people.

Perhaps someone should suggest to the Taliban that oil may be God's test for mankind to see if they have the ability not to risk their whole planet to gain a little wealth, or whether they are still irresponsible and selfish ?

8.48 and 8.50. We could all set an example if we wanted to, BUT, we know it will hurt our wallets to much.

The pollution from China and India will only continue to get worse because we and other countries support their polluting industry.

The wholesale and retail trade within the UK import ship loads of all kinds of products every day, and the high profit margins on these products make it impossible to refuse.

I would say about 50% of it is junk, this junk is on show and for sale throughout the UK, and we find it hard to refuse.

Its not just the cheapy shops peddling this rubbish, big high street names also make high profits from dealing with China and India, M&S is one of many.

So complaining about the polution these two countries make is in its self complaining about our own values and actions.

If you really want to make a difference stop buying the junk, or at least be a little bit more picky. If you refuse to buy the goods then the goods will stop arriving. Will the latter happen? I doubt it very much. But lets not complain about Keir for trying eh.

All the COPs are just a meaningless knees-up shmoozefest - the fete of the planet.

I wouldn't call it a knees up, the idea is great, but only if its supported by all, and its not and doubt it ever will be including you and me for the reasons given in my previous post.

The main emitters are not there - that's why it's meaningless

Thats more or less what i said. If your country is making filthy profits would you attend to stop them?

nicebloke1 stop buying their junk where do you think all the wind turbine junk and solar panels comes from plus the Lithium for electric vehicles.

15.15 Wind turbines mainly come from Denmark, and also Siemens here in the UK.
