Businesses Warn Of Job Losses Threat As Starmer Hopes To Get 2M Back Into Work
//Sir Keir Starmer is in a new row with leading company bosses as his government attempts to force around 2 million young people back into work.
As work and pensions secretary Liz Kendall unveiled the “Get Britain Working” plan in the Commons, a major business organisation – the British Chambers of Commerce – warned that Labour’s policies are more likely to lead to job losses.
There was similar criticism from the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), with both organisations pointing to the impact of employment rights legislation and the rise in national insurance dubbed “the jobs tax”.//
All hunky dory then?

My grandson (16) can't get a job for love or money - has handed in his CV to many firms and just doesn't hear back from them. He's also had a couple of interviews with no success. Maybe it depends where you live as Abbey seems to be offered jobs left right and centre!
How about the millions of illegal immigrants who are not working and on handouts? Many housed and fed in well heated holiday accomodation and kept warmly clothed because of the cold weather. Notice the targets of this ulcer of an administration once again? They have had a pop at the elderly, then the employed, now the young or ill people ... but not the new and exciting recent arrivals.
I'm afraid it is only going to gt worse for young people. Unaffordable minimum wage coupled with increased EHI and then the icing on the cake that you wont be able to get shot of people. It's the last one that will hit the young mainly since emplyers wont want to take the risk with someone with no experience. Imagine getting someone who not only cant do the job but hates it but of course cant go anywhere else because they dont want the hassle either.
Sad times ahead for the young, but then they need to understand what a Lbour Goverment is about.
All this try and get all school leavers into Uni started under Blair, nicebloke who seemed to think that all youngsters should go there. In truth many are not suited to Uni and should go on to do an apprenticeship or other type of work. Many who have gone to Uni are now on the dole as they can't get jobs and also have big loans which many will never be able to pay back. Many school children do not either want or have the chance to stay on until they are 18 and would rather be out earning a living but now are being told they have to stay on and so get bored and do not really learn much by staying on and often become disruptive, spoiling it for the ones who want to stay and learn.
This is just one of many jobs I've seen advertised in the window of a shop/ post office that I pass most days, its now been in the window for 3 plus months.
Aprentice require to learn all aspects of solid wood floor laying. Wage while learning, I believe it was around £12 per hour well before the Budget. Its was still up for grabs yesterday when I passed.
