Many streets are littered with the contents of the bins, with rubbish strewn everywhere as animals have clawed their way into them.

Rat infestations have been reported in parts of the city as the rodents have enjoyed feasting on the fallout of the row, which is over plans to downgrade some staff and reduce their pay.

On Tuesday an indefinite all-out strike gets under way, prompting fears over the scale of the vermin plaguing some areas.

The council said it had made a "fair and reasonable" offer to the union Unite//

And as the weather gets warmer, maggots and flies will be joining the rats.  I would be incinerating my household waste.

Ratting with terriers used to be considered a sport.

My brother went down to Wimbourne gun shop and made a purchase.  Roland soon had it on his heals.

I prefer rat poison myself, works a treat.

My little rat-catcher's been hired out a time or two. Pity i didn't have him when our area was infested with the long tails. I could have made a small fortune.

burn your own rubbish, would that include plastic, erm lot's of black smoke erm imagine a row of terraced houses all burning there plastic then x10 of houses with gardens doing it, elf and safety the eco loons etc, i see a modern version of a black mariah coming round council pen pushers banging on doors.. do you have a fire extinguisher that's council approved, have you flushed you outdoor tap regularly for legionella erm wheres your log book, have you done a risk assessment..

And I don't get fooled by the factory rules
'Cause I always read between the lines
