Since pandemic restrictions eased in October 2022, Lindsay Hoyle has  enjoyed at least 19 'non-regular' overseas jaunts. That globetrotting has cost the public the astonishing sum of £250,000.

Such expenditure is entirely unprecedented: it took his predecessor John Bercow a decade to notch up an equivalent bill.

Figures obtained by the Mail via Freedom of Information legislation this week have revealed he has spent an extraordinary £180,000 on airfares, never agreeing to travel in economy or premium economy class, even for journeys of little more than an hour.

His famed Labour roots seem to have rotted.  There's a lovely picture of him laughing though..

Goodness, such venom and to what end?

I can recall this type of thing being haughtily dismissed as jealousy from little people when it involved Tories and their camp followers. What changed? 😂

Question Author

Nothing changed.  Labour politicians are still pulling the wool over their supporters' eyes by claiming to be caring socialists.

You lost.

Question Author

We all lost.

I voted Labour .... is it okay if I express concern?

If you voted for anyone other than Labour, Naomi, some will say you should respect the winner and keep quiet until the next elction. Just like the 'losers' did during the Tory years?

Desperate to get their snouts in the trough & take full advantage. What's the betting in gets in the HoL wealth scam as soon as he leaves the Commons? Damn savages...

If you voted labour many say you can't complain, you got what you voted for, newmodarmy.

We all have the right to voice our opinions about the government, regardless of who is in power and who we voted for

Gorbals Mick love to squander public money too, it's a Labour thing.

If the policy  allows for it, what's wrong with following policy?

I think most who enter politics discard their previously sincerely held principles. It's just how it is. (Corbyn might have been a exception.)

Hoyles snout is deep in the trough.

Q: Why does the speaker need to go abroad on "business" anyway?

Some of you seem to be under the mishapprehension that Hoyle only began doing this when Labour were elected. He was doing it while the Tories were in power, too. Just saying 🙄

These trough scrounges are just doing what their inner core dictates. A bird will fly, a fish will swim, a politician will sell his soul.
