Do you think Muslims are unfairly treated by Christians ?

I was wondering if it was just me who was infuriated by the claims of a muslim man on the ITV news yesterday. He said: ''If the Muslims insulted Christians there would be an up roar but when it comes to Christians attacking muslims well we're just fair game'',.Though I certaintly don't condone the cartoons I think this has to be the most unfair comment ever made on T.V.

Certain races or religions feel persecuted whatever the situation.

I always think that if 20 people (10 white and 10 black) got shipwecked on a desert island, within 2 years the white people would be living one end of the island in reasonable comfort.

The black people would be living the other end in a shanty town, going on about how downtroden they are, and how unfair life is, and singing the blues all day.

or the whites would have developed a society with a strict class system based on accidents of birth, keeping the majority 'in their rightful place' with an idle rich group living off everyone else's labour... and the black people would be sharing everything, looking out for each other and being very watchful of the greedy eyes of the white rulers seeking to steal all their natural resources.

No!! and in fact this being a source of complaints constantly from muslims (as it seems lately) is really starting to get me angry, they are not persecuted as a race as they like us to believe. A lot of people walk on egg shells around these people for fear of appearing racist, a very similar situation to the post about old people pushing in in bus queues. As a person you earn your respect, most people treat people as the individuals they are, some are using their race as source of power, and I for one have allowed rudeness to go unchecked for fear of being racist. Any situation that has nothing at all to do with race, where there is disagreement will be put down to the christian being racist. Now I know that's a sweeping statement, but unfortunately it's my experience and comments like that on Tv anger me because of this.

Perhaps it's the middle east that made them that way.

Or maybe it's just religion in general. The amount of whining on answerbank about Christian things being got rid of... Schools removing the cross from hot cross buns... A council calling Christmas winter fest...

I'm not infuriated by this comment. He sort of has a point. He feels the victim, but other religions seem to feel the victim too.

When have they been persecuted since the holocaust? What has happened since that is so bad?

And all I ever seem to hear is their persecution.

what happened to the Jews in the holocaust was horrendous enough for people to moan about for a hundred years more. It didnt end with the war they tries to settle all over the world and faced prejuduce of people not wanting them there. I say it a gain i think Jews seem to have it righ, as a rule they seem hard working and peacful. Also what about Israel have you never picked up a paper, of course they are being persecuted still.

I have never been racist but honestly am starting to think twice now. Does anyone else realise that the Arabs are taking over the world. Even here on my little island we notice more everyday, and they don't have to apply for all the legal things that we have to. They are allowed to live here by their own rules, and I do not mean religion, that is personal to everyone, it's the infiltration I worry about.

Ever heard of the British Empire? Seemed okay when white people were taking over the world, screwing other countries out of their natural resources and enslaving them.

flashpig - I don't think we Jews are always whining about being persecuted. If we feel threatened we have the right to say so and to respond in a non-violent manner. I overhear anti-semitic comments all the time which is really annoying as I know that most of them are born out of ignorance or fear.

what annoys me is that non british people are aloud to demonstrate and voice their opinions, in britain, without an eye lid being battered. Obvioulsy everyone is alod free speech, but if we were to do this in the uk or in a muslim country we would be ripped to shreds. So why are we not allowed to voice our opinions about muslims or asylum seekers are whatever?

This country is to relaxed and we need to start being tru and voicing our feelings

I'd blame it on the Germans! If they hadn't murdered 6 million Jews there probably wouln't be a state of Israel sitting in the middle of all the Arab states.
And the British! If we hadn't blockaded Germany in the early part of the century maybe there wouldn't have been WW1.And if the allies hadn't demanded so much in reparations after WW1 we might not have forced Germany into huge inflation abject poverty and Fascism and WW2.

Minorities are always more sensitive. Were not so bothered about blasphemy.Were not so insecure and therefore dont care so much what other people think of us .
I do think that democracy is not an easy bedfellow for Islam.It means that power would move away from the strict ideas of the Mullahs. I don't think it is Islam that is the problem. It is the Mullahs are afraid of losing power and they use the Koran for there own means.Hope I havn't offended anyone ! Discuss

One recollection of a visit to Israel was being told that if that upstart carpenter from Nazareth was ever to turn up again he would be crucified all over again. All he ever did was upset the accepted religions of the time by trying to convert the masses to "Christianity", and since then He's been stereotyped as a blue-eyed white man with long fair hair, whereas in all probability He was at least a shade of Mediterranean olive/brown.
It takes all types, so why can't we just accept that everyone is different and learn to live with each other? The last time I was in London I was surprised at the lack of "white" people....but so what?

the reason why muslims are treated with distrust is beacuse their more willing to blame other for their promblems!

july 7 bombing they blamed the lack of jobs as the reason for the tw@ts to go and do such a cowardely act.

any way i fought the muslim council of britian said it would combat religious hatered being tought to muslims. yet theve done nothing to help in the war against terroists
