Did anyone see the story in Yesterday's Sun about moslems kicking up a fuss because Ann Summers have a male blow-up doll called Mustafa 5hag. It got the biggest laugh of the day in work.

I think (and correct me if I'm wrong) the point roger is making is that we are coming to the point where we can't even indulge in a bit of gentle humour without upsetting the sensibilities of a few Muslims.

It is starting to get on my tits big time - why should Ann Summers have to withdraw something like this just because a few Muslims have raised objections? We're in Britain for christ's sake, not Jordan.

I don't think there's anything wrong with "indulging in a bit of sense of humour" as you put it. But where diplomacy dictates we ought to show a bit of sensitivity especially in the current climate with regards to the cartoon. If we are not careful we will pay a heavy price and alienate the moderate moslems as well.

I don't think there's anything even the slightest bit offensive about the name in the original question. If anyone genuinely is offended by that then either I've a terrible gauge of what's acceptable and proper or people are overreacting.
