Muslims protests creating a poor image.

Prior to the cartoons being published, I had never really given much thought to Muslims: Yes, of course I knew about them in much the same way as I know about Judaism, Catholicism etc... Religion does not play a role in my life and therefore it doesn't interest me.

However, as a result of these ridiculous protests that the muslims have organised, and seeing all the flag burning and calls for beheadings and so on and so forth, it has started to make me intolerant of them to the point that, whereas before I didn't have any interest in them, now I dislike them.

I guessing I'm probably not the only one. Am I?

Sadly no, you are not.

This is a classic case of the media following, and increasing the trend towards 'panic' reporting. Everything from bird flu to global warming is given the 'end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it' slant by the medai, who are now whipping everyone up into an Armageddon scenario over the 'takeover' of Muslims.

It's wrong, and it's going to end in tears.

The reason for the protests IS to create bad feeling among muslims and non belivers therby giving a legitimate reason for a jihad or, holy war. Basicaly, the miitants on both sides are slowly but surely achieving their aim

I agree with johnlambert 100%, couldn't put it better.

Well said andy-hughes, couldn't agree more. The media does have very much to do with this.

Johnlambert, you have got a point there too. This will play into the hand of extremism from both sides.

Flip you are not interested in religion and were not interested in muslims at all untill a very recent date ; after the muslims' protest you dislike them ; and you are free to like or dislike whatever or whoever you want . but can't you see that for muslims it's different than you ,religion is part of their daily life and the symbol of that religion was not only portrayed (which is forbidden in their faith) bad badly done too SO exactly as you muslims now dislike the responsibles of the publications and all those who welcomed them AND it's their (muslims') right to do so; but to be fair i think the protests should not have taken a violent form , so what to do ?shall i say :"let them all enjoy themselves in hatred and boodsheds"but i know this is wrong ,isn't it?
