According to my local paper which covers the Harrow area, four of the men are now responding well and have been moved out of the Critical Care Unit onto another ward. They are now able to get out of bed and enjoy meals (if you can enjoy hospital food that is!). The other two men are still in a critical condition and remain under sedation while they receive organ support.
I've got a letter asking if I want to take part in a drug trial - the fee is maybe 3 times what this place used to offer!

Might be a coincidence but it might not.
Might be easy money, but I think its a risky thing to do, as the 4 guys in Harrow have discovered. Maybe Illegals and chavs have got a use after all, have them do all the drug trials!!

illegals and chavs....

Why dont you add the Iraqis to it as well. They would prefer this than an all out civil war started by your people.

To get back on topic, because they are getting better (slowly), it isn't a news story any more. So jornalists gop running after something else eye-catching.
The press get bored. If they feel they aren't scaring the bejesus out of Joe Public enough, they'll move on to something else.
OK I take it all back. I didn't read the letter thoroughly (seeing as I had no intention of taking part).
It wasn't really 3 times more money than usual, the study was 3 times LONGER than usual!!!

Imagine being stuck in a wee hospital ward and not allowed outside at all for almost a full month!??
