Not because I was a typical woman only interested in the colour and where to hang my bag, but because he was a lying crook who sought and gained my trust by sheer deception. I took him to the small claims via the county court where he lived. I won the judgement and although an order was made to pay me, he never did. I however had the satisfaction of at least having a CCJ placed against him which won't exactly enhance his credit rating for the next six years.
only if they win. I've seen people try this, and lose; they have become permanently bitter. I once got hit by a car but deliberately decided not to take the matter to court (the fact that the other driver, although careless, was horrified and apologetic, did help), precisely because I fgured real 'closure' was more likely to be had by letting go. I've never regretted this.
The last lord chancellor - Irvine - did market research on the acceptability of court procedures.
i was a witness and asked to fill out a form about how wonderful or not I have found the whole process
and I thought that that had been motivated by recognition that people were not satisfied with the oucome of the court process......
