After reading the thread below I had a look at the BNP website but couldn't find anything in relation to homosexuality or civil partnerships. Anyone know their policies on this?

I have no idea but I cant imagine them marching for gay rights, can you??

There were rumours that Nick Griffin had a gay affair with Martin Webster (when they were both in The National Front together) The story actually came from Webster himself and although Griffin has denied the claims he never sued, even though the story was printed.

Also following the bombing of a gay pub, The Admiral Duncan, in Soho, in which three people died, Griffin wrote, "The TV footage of dozens of 'gay' demonstrators flaunting their perversion in front of the world's journalists showed just why so many ordinary people find these creatures so repulsive".

I don't think he has a manifesto as such but I gather he doesn't particularly care for them much.

I read their Manifesto, and there's nothing about Homosexuality in it.
I don't know about their particular policies on this, but I have often come across 'quotes' from many BNP members referring to them in offensive, derogatory terms... which would give a fairly good idea about how they feel concerning this issue.
So I would guess that if you were a black Jewish lesbian, voting for them would be a no no?

The BNP's historical commitment to re-criminalising homosexuality was no longer in its 2005 manifesto, nevertheless, the party opposed the introduction of civil partnerships in the United Kingdom.

this from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_National_Party
quite an interesting wikipedia page - worth a read if you are interested in the organisation...

It is no longer in favour of specifically re-criminalising gay relationships, but it would re-introduce an equivalent of Section 28, it would forbid any form of positive information or equal services for gay people or couples.
Don't you just love people like 10clarionst. Obviously has no clue as to the answer of the question but still thinks (and I use think in the loosest sense of the word) that you should vote for them.
He's entitled to his opinion whether we agree with him or not.

A good point netibiza. I don't agree with what they say, but am quite disturbed that they are censored so much. Their views should be accurately reported so that we can all decide what we think. A councillor was recently asked to resign because she had joined the BNP. Doesn't seem like democracy and a free society to me.

netibiza - totally agree that he is entitled to his view (and there was a campaign trying to make policemen from stopping joining the BNP - which I am against)

Just strikes me that the typical BNP supporter doesnt seem to even know what the views are of the party that he supports (other than get non white people out of the country).

And if it is not (as10CS suggests) of national importance, why was it in previous manifestos that they wanted it outlawed?

Anyway, keep on campaigning 10CS - imho you do more good than harm (especially if you cant even answer a simple question on the party you support on a question and answer site)
10c- you actually believe what the politicians/ pol. parties promise? What makes you think BNP is going to be any different than Labor?

No! No! No! Vote for the Stonecutters! They have plans for a solid future. It's set in stone!
shazbang, you totaly elude me.whats the connection between the BNP and the opposition of civil partnerships? dont you think they've more serious issues on the agenda ?
The BNP have no coherent policies whatever.
They just make them up as they go along in the vain hope that ignorant and brain dead knuckle draggers will vote for them.
They are such opportunists that if they thought it would get them some votes they would get Elton John and George Michael to write their theme song.
They are a meaningless and pathetic group of misguided and delusional nutters who have no place in British politics.
The BNP are like King Canute trying to stop the tide coming in. They are living in cloud cuckoo land and are laughable in their pathetic attempts at playing at politics.
The only people who vote for them are just disillusioned individuals who are too lazy to think or do anything about the problems in their communites and who vote for the BNP because the BNP appeal to peoples basic fears and insticts and never actually produce any tangible answers to the problems that they blame on minorities.
Who cares what they think about gays anyway?
They are so meaningless its like asking what candlestick makers think about gays?
