Was it in Dahab Village

It's been a long time since I went to Dahab. Wondering if the bombs hit the bedouin village, (as it used to be called!) or the main town?

Hi jedimistress, i was in Dahab in 02, and i loved it.... now, slightly behind the times me, what bombs? and when? because i avoid the news as much as possible because it's so depressing!!!

Did you go diving there?

Hi, I went there a few times in the mid 90's. Not diving, but snorkelling and having a break from working in Eilat, Israel. I think it may have changed a lot since then, as it did between visits.

It was cushions on the floor the first time, then chairs, 2 storey buildings, diving schools and pool tables when I returned two years later.

it was still the same on the front, cushions and outside eating, and the boat looking bar/eatery. I was visiting 2 friends there who run a diving shop.

I love Eilat, and again the Hilton at Taba getting bombed was a shock....

Dolphin Reef is why I would go to Eilat everytime, and the market and the life......

what work were you doing there? hope you dont mind me being nosey... :-)

Working in the Princess Hotel. Staying in the Home Hostel. Just backpacking around, but taking a work break in Eilat.

yep, i did the same thing in 86/87... and again, chose dangerous places... Kurdistan for one when it was really kicking off, and hitchhiked back from Istanbul, where curfew was 9pm, through Yugoslavia, and Bulgaria and Czechoslavakia.... took 4 days to get to Holland and nearly died in the process!!! hey ho... good fun... recommend it to anyone...
