Glasgow's parking ticket 'collector'

I saw a brief news report on my local TV station (I'm down South) over the weekend about a woman in Glasgow who has amassed a staggering �28k in parking ticket fines over the past year or so. Apparently she has so far paid off �12k of this debt. Are there any Glaswegian Answerbankers who can tell me what the 'word on the street' is about this woman, if any (obviously I'm not asking for details of her identity, just reasons as to why she is doing it etc)

Can't help with the gossip, but a fair amount of detail in a newspaper which I shall recount. Almost every morning she leaves one of her family's 3 cars near George Square. Ticketed every day, she pays the �25 fine before the 14 days elapse (when it would go up to �50). It is always legally parked ie in a bay, so it cannot be towed. She just doesn't buy a ticket. Still owes �15k from before she started paying up promptly. Either seriously rich (she could save over �7k pa by buying a season ticket) or has a very strong aversion to pay & display. Sorry I know I haven't really answered the question but I thought the additional info may help.

ikewise to BenDToy, no answers here, just the info. When I first read your question I thought I recalled something about her saying it was cheaper than paying for parking, or especially parking near to where she wanted to be. The news report seems to say otherwise, but maybe she still thought that was the case?!
