Following on from the BBC news report regarding the state of Dialysis in UK ...should the Gov offer live donors some sort of monetary compensation for their gift. as a sort of incentive to people worried about loss of earnings while recuperating from the donation. It has been worked out that the cost of the transplant proceedure pays off after 1 year .

I woul say that most if not all donations are given by family members as gifts of love. Any monetary consideration would escalate to the state it is in developing countries where poverty is exploited by unsrupulous people including the medical profession
