An for the record, no I dont believe in gay fostering. Put the children first not the adults. Can yo uimagine what these (probably already distruat) kids go through when their peers find out.
I do blame them for their crimes undercovers, that will usually get me labelled as homophobic though. Just look at this question. Most of the responses feel the need to go into the whole "Gay bashing" debate. Everyone seems afraid to think that possibly, just possibly:
2 gay men, living together + 14 year old boy = alarm bells.
Even if they have no history of predatory behaviour, it's putting huge temptation in their path.
Daring to even think that, seems to be regarded as a heinous crime. To me, it's logical to try and anticipate potential abuses.
I'm sorry? Temptation?
Do they think that putting a girl with a straight couple is tempting for the man? Or that putting a boy with a straight couple is tempting for the woman?????
I'm sorry Loosehead, but you keep stressing that your post isn't "gay bashing" yet your subsequent posts keep going back to that point.
So some of you refuse to draw any distinction between a standard heterosexual couple fostering kids and two gay men fostering kids. Is that where we are at?
Just food for thought, after the age for gay sex was lowered to 16, ie to be in line with heterosexuals a couple of years ago, anyone care to guess what Peter Tatchel said immediately afterwards? Yep, you guessed it, "Lowering the age to 16 is progress but really 14 would be more appropriate" well there's a thing!
