What exactly was the soldiers defence?. Did they say they did not do it or did they say they were stressed?. Why did Blair have to go on record and say that he was pleased with the verdict. What exactly then can the soldiers not do in Iraq?

Alls fair in love and war ward...then the july 7 bombings were Ok yeah.....its a war after all...or not in your backyard?
Dom you ask what was their defence and yet from the title of the question you have asumed they were guilty. I doubt if md on this site is aware of the full transcript of the proceedings so how can you say "British soldiers drown an iraqi (sic) civilian....?" All were found not guilty. It is very easy to criticise the forces from the comfort of wir own homes but how would you like to be in their beets? Wir own life is a doddle compared to that of a soldier.
the soldiers have to abide by the rules of armed conflict, and civil law (all real soldiers know about the yellow card,) therfor they have been found not guilty of anything, and belive me they will have been investigated by the civil authorities (Iraqi + UK) and also the SIB ( Military police investgators)
Who charges the Iraqis with the death of hundreds of civilians ,noone apparently .Aswas said it is a war and there will be casualties .
Casualties in War are unavoidable, cold blooded murder is not.
dolly, it's not a war it's an invasion and we are an occupying force. We are not wanted there, that's why there are insurgents. Why are we there? Do you know, because no-one else seems to have a clue? Oh and I think you'll find that several former Iraqi leaders are on trial for the murder of civilians. Do try to keep up.
