thats because sadistic murder and torture is the accepted behaviour of pig-dog lunatics. its only shocking when carried out by rational human beings.
Because the violence and killing has so much become the norm in Iraq that fatigue is setting in.

There's been similarly little made of the countless Iraqi's murdered. (And I do mean countless)

There's only a big deal if western troops murder or abuse Iraqis because we expect better of our troops and are shocked and apalled when they let us down

(Which I guess is the polite way of saying what Booldawg just said)
It's all over the news though. Just another two to add to the THOUSANDS of needless deaths caused by the invasion.
why is it that when iraqie civilians get killed they are part of some terrorist group, with a new group every other week. in the case of women or children they must have been helping the enemy combatents or the buzzword to cover such crimes "insurgents", so they are unfotunate casulties of war. but when it is one of the illegal invading occupiers of a soverign country armed to the teeth, they call it murder?
i heard there where 8000 troops out looking for these two guys but on the same day ten iraqi workers where kidnapped yet we have not heard about them or how many where looking for them this was radio 2
I see your point maxximus, but you could argue that an unarmed, elderly peace protester or ken bigley etc etc are hardly gun toting delta force members. you could argue on both sides. Its guerilla warfare with atrocities on both sides of the fence
point taken booldawg! but it just seems to me the media is very one sided on such matters. and i feel the whole affair is obscene with all the lies, and is totally unfair to the iraqie citizens, when on top of everything the u.s. and others where responsible for their living conditions with saddam for the past 30 odd years. how much more can a people take!
It's not quite turning out as the US and our goverment promised is it? As though we believed it would anyway.
My son-in-law is in the army and is just coming up for his second tour of duty in Basra. He and his colleagues are all of the same opinion, we have no choice but to go where we're sent, doesn't mean we have to believe in it, not what we signed up for, not a legal war etc. etc.
Of course the Iraqis are beginning to turn on the troops, they want to be left alone now, to sort out their own country.
I have not been on answerbank long, a friend recommended me to it, but in the short time here this type of question seems to show the division in opinions concerning the polarized nature of some of the debate on here in connection with the war...

i maybe wrong dolly, but are you not trying to suggest that some "people" here are so anti american that they are indifferent to any life being taken because they have previously stated the war is wrong and pointed out the failings of the US administration? if i'm putting words in your mouth or being over sensitive i apologise..

however to answer your question, i don't think many people have mentioned it because, those guys were killed by sadistic murderers so no one in their right mind should defend them and decent people should be disgusted by their actions, they are barbaric and regardless of motive no cause has the right to murder

There's a war on and this type of thing happens in war it goes with the territory (which is why many veterans appreciate the futility of war), atrocities happen as a matter of course as "normality" descends into the chaos, read up on the atrocities carried out in europe in the 90's in bosnia, very very unpleasant...The media draw very little or no attention to, the daily killings from both US and insurgents of innocent people on a daily basis in Iraq and Afghanistan. That is why i am totally against war unless it is absolutely required! it is required sometimes but i have not once seen anything that convinces me that the war in Iraq was required?
I have to day Dolly, I think you've maybe misinterpreted the silence. No-one on here would condone the torture and killing of American soldiers. Where's the question to debate? Torturing, murdering scumbags are all the same regardless of their nationality or religion as I'm sure everyone would agree. So I can't see why anyone would have posted it as a topic I'm afraid.
