Does anyone else suspect the Government is back pedalling rapidly and ID Cards will not see the light of day under Tony Blair?

Let's hope so, I think the government has realised that it's a very expensive way to committ poilitical hari kari. I think the ID card scheme would be a disaster and would have very little effect of terrorism. Remember Terrorism isn't the bombs and bullets it's what we do to ourselves in curtailing civil liberties in response to the bombs and bullets. That's what the terrorists want, they want us to straitjacket our own lives and do their work for them.
Exactly what Loosehead said.
"Noxy agrees with Loosehead, shocker......!"

It can happen then noxy.
Well it's hot outside, I must have heatstroke....:)

If I can get you two to agree, I should be working for the UN. I agree with you both by the way.

Let's face it, most of the other government intoduced computer systems have been a complete disaster. (Air Traffic Control, The Passport system, Child Support System, Tax Credit Systems, etc. etc.

What makes anybody think that they could possibly get this one right.?

All the ever do is try and find more ways of chucking away our hard earned income and pensions. Everything this government does now seems to be coated with the same paint as the Titanic.

Oh yes, and some of us haven't forgotten the farce of the Milennium Dome either !
