Slightly different take on the issue here. If I think of Bagdad and try to forget Sadam, the dust and the oppression, it feels like the city would be a beautiful enchanting place. The kind of Aladdin and Jafaar type place with temples and spice markets. Am I mental or was this the case, has it been deadened and greyed by all the conflict and oppression?
sorry yes the answer is yes - it is because of our inbuilt requirement to bomb the cr@p out of everything that is wonderful in this world, that we are destined to go to ruin.
Well, have you noticed the live pictures from Baghdad? I mean, when there's not bits of the city flying around the place. It looks quite nice, green, with beautiful buildings; in fact, one of the first civilisations on earth was started in Baghdad, or near enough - the Babylonians. Maybe you could go on holiday there...or then again, maybe not, considering the possibilities...
