BBC Radio 4 split into normal schedule on long wave and waar coverage on FM..... it quickly became known as Scud FM and the perceived success of it lead directly to Radio Five being rebranded as Five Live and becoming more news-oriented.
[RANT]IMHO 5Live has suffered the most extreme case of Warcoverageitis this time round - anything is apparantly worth broadcasting if it's from or about the Gulf regardless of news value, content or judgement. They've really messed up. Lost the plot. No-one is sitting back, asessing or pointing out that listening to a disjointed press conference featuring videos is Not Good Radio. It reeks of boys' toys if you ask me. Which, in fairness, you didn't! [/RANT]
