I see 4 tory lords have been questioned by the police about donations to the conservative party. Bet there`s not as much of an uproar as there was when the Labour party donators were uncovered. Does this mean there are a set of rules for one party and a set for the other? Or is it just more expected from the tories??
I think you will find that the Labour party scandal was and still is more newsworthy because it came as close as No10's door, and it was Labour who reformed the House of Lords. Tony's cronies comes to mind.
well, I don't think Labour does have the final say, that's why donors were rejected. So actually they're no worse than the Tories, it would seem - but they are the current government, so they're quite correctly expected to behave better. Government misbehaves is more striking news than opposition misbehaves, whichever party it is.
