crucifixes at heathrow...whatever next?
I've just watched a news report o the lady working for BA or whoever, the one who was sent home for wearing a cricifix around her neck. Having now seen the offending tiny crucifix, I'm somewhat baffled as to the reason why she was suspended. Is it a health and safety issue?, or is it an offensive item. Somebody come up with a simple answer please?

Britain is taking this rubbish way over the top, I can't wait for some blokes dressed up as muslims to rob a bank, then let any witness pick them out, maybe things will change then, British Airways ? what the hell, I thought we were in Britain, the lunatics really are in charge.
"British Airways" yes the quotes are there for a reason, has done this for one reasson and one reason only, so as not to "offend" the muslims and other ethnics that work at British airports, it has nothing whatsover to do with staff looking ostentatious, like Anne Widdecombe i fly a lot and will not be using "NonBritishAiways" in the forseeable future.
I have no religious beliefs whatsoever but do i want this to stay a basically christian country or do i want it to become a muslim one ?.no contest really I am sick of the PC brigades attitudes and the way they are letting these so called minority groups get whatever they want , its time to stop and fight this. I know who i'll be voring for.
These people are destroying this country bit by bit, and soon it will be too late to do anyrhing about it. but because of the way the laws were changed and introduced, it has been made very difficult to do or say anything for rear of prosecution

naz-nomad,how the hell can you be offended by a crucifix, are you mad.by the sound of your name i presume you are a muslim, forgive me if thats wrong, putting that aside, why does it offend you,i see mosques all over london, they dont offend me,i see women wearing the veil that doesent offend me either,if the sight of a cross the size of a 5p piece offends you perhaps you should leave our country, because it is a christian country, not a extension of the middle or far east.
She wasn't forbidden to wear it at all, she was asked to wear it within her clothes. Wearing chains on the outside of your clothing is against BA dresscode for employees, (presumeably because they don't want them to look like Mr T).She's just trying to stir up a load of old nonsense which will stick in the media's mind which essentially isn't true, like the untrue "Whitemas", "Winterlights" and all of the rest of the "Christmas is banned" rubbish you hear etc etc etc.
This is a non story, and nothing whatsoever to do with Muslims!

Noxlumos: Your correct in all you say,but that's no reason for all the paranoid Muslim bashers on here to see sense.
Why let facts interfere with a story that will sell papers and flame a little bigotry.
I haven't yet been In an "Oxfam" shop so can't verify the truth of the assertion that Chrismas cards will not be on sale. I will as I always get cards from charity shops. They are definitely on sale in others,"scope" "heart" and suchlike

I'm not an avid christian ; I don't know even if that is a realistic discription of anyone, just something I heared once, I think. But I sort-of go along generaly with what Jesus said. Seemed a nice chap as far as I can tell. We'd do well with a few more like him these days. I reccon he was treated abominably by the powers of his day. Maybe not everyone here can agree with me there. Anyway I hope you can see I don't have a religious axe to grind but that doesn't meen the question isn't valid when I ask does any one agree with me when I say if I had the last word on the compen. the B.A. worker gets, I'd see to it she never has to work another day in her life and let B.A. award it to her. Let's see how P.C. they feel then?
Well i wear a 22 ct gold star of David with 40 seed pearls in it that was given to me on my wedding day by my ex husbands Nan, her husband was an exiled Russian Jew who's parents brought it to Southend with them in 1919. I wear it because it looks pretty, not for any other reason, noone has complained. i also have a large Jade and gold pendant with a Chinese symbol on it that apparently is some sort of religious symbol thing, I wear that just to show off my posh jewellery, i am just waiting for someone to make some comment and I can tell them that i am wearing the family jewels so they can get stuffed. lol
