The bit you want, is about a third of the way down., it starts, British citizenship, it says Goverment, but it really was John Prescott who said it,

To prove me wrong, you've sent me a link - not to the BBC or CNN, where one would imagine you'd be able to find it...
but to a blog!
AND IT STILL DOESNT HAVE JOHN PRESCOTT saying the phrase in question...
Can you see my point? Can you see where this would fall down if we took it to court?

It wasn't Prescott. It was Blunkett.
He was absolutely not saying there was no upper limit for all immigration "legal and illegal", as Lonnie claimed, but very specifically saying there was no upper limit for "managed economic migration", which Lonnie undoubtedly still disapproves of but is nevertheless substantially different.

Your both wrong, yes, it was a blog, and I apologise for that, Prescott did say there's no limit to the amount of people this country can hold, addmittedly, I can't find the lik yet, and maybe I won't, it was at least in 2004, but if I can, i'll post it,
I apologise for the blog, it was the best I could find at the time.

Well, perhaps you are right, but it seems a bit strange that you can can easily find lots of reports of Blunkett saying it, yet precisely none of Prescott doing a Google search like this:
"David Blunkett" +"no upper limit" Immigration
(6 out of the first ten hits = exact match)
&
"John Prescott" +"no upper limit" Immigration
(0 out the first ten hits = exact match)
and as a Home Secretary Blunkett'd seem like a far more appropriate person to be giving an opinion...

Also, leaving aside the fact that you didn't even quote the right politician, the statement you quoted Prescott as saying
"there's no amount to the number of immigrants this country can take."
is quiet, QUIET different to
"He (BLunkett) declared there is no upper limit to managed economic immigration ."
I apologise.
