Who on earth is this person, never heard of her. Does Blair give these out with a pin on a list. I always thought Labourites did'nt like peerages and cohorts, you know, everything for the common man ????? GOT IT WRONG AGAIN. I really must try and learn something. Like I said, she is one of those people in the public eye who does not bang on about the charity work and volunteer work she does.

Good for June. I'm pleased that an MBE has gone to someone that people under the age of 20 will recognise. I've worked with her before, and know her quite well, and I know how much she does for charity.

And darn sight more than 99% of people in this country who are happy to carp and complain, then post inane messages to this site when someone who actually does something is recognised.

Hammer Head - she's a telly presenter (T4 on Sundays). I don't watch it myself (unless they're showing an episode of 'Friends'), but my 16 year old nephew is an avid fan.

I think the whole honours thing is a farce anyway.

You only get an Honour if you're nominated and then accepted by a board of pen pushers.

In other words if you work for free for 40 years helping everyone, but those people you help can't be arsed to nominate you you'll get nothing.
