Things changed when William Hague became leader and was ridiculed for being a sad little freak who spent his teenage years reading Hansard and speaking at Conservative Party conferences instead of, y'know, having an actual life.
He quickly started telling everyone about how he'd often drink 8 pints of beer a day during his summer job....
Cameron will be quietly pleased that this cannabis story is out. It makes him look more like a normal person.

do bear in mind, Dom Tuk, that Cameron hasn't actually had the opportunity to get many deaths on his conscience yet. That's a consequence of power, not of powerlessness. As for hypocrisy, I still get a giggle out of ecofanatic Cameron going to work on his bike to save the planet while his limo follows behind with his briefcase.
i think most of you are missing the point.
He comes across as being very shifty over this matter, by not actually admitting the fact, and apologising for his earlier weakness.
He is most likely to be the next Conservative Prime Minister do we want another Blair, that isn't prepared to come clean, even over such a trivial matter as this?
