12 Year old shot in the head dies
11 Answers
Am I going mad, yesterday I woke up to the news saying a 12 year old was shot at point blank range in the head in her lounge and was in hospital, her brother had been arrested. Her mother was not in the house at the time as she was at a funeral for a family member. Last night the news sadly reported she had died, but they failed to mention the person being held was her brother.... did I imagine it was her brother?

Apparently he ran out of the house hysterically cradling her, calling for help. The police were unable to interview him till last night due to his state of mind.
It was a converted gun and shouldnt have been in the house. I cant believe there is so much gun crime in this country, bearing in mind I live in such an isolated community. Guns dont kill peope, people do... well guns certainly help dont they.

How can you accidentally shoot someone at point blank range in the centre of their forehead? (Going by the details of the neighbour who tried to ressussitate her).
Kids should not have access to guns @ all, they shouldn't be in our homes. It terrifies me that if one day I have children they will grow up in such an unsafe environment. When I was small (& i'm only 28) I played in the streets until dark unnatended, and instead of guns I played with conkers and a cardboard box to slide down hills in. I don't think i've actually ever held a gun, apart from a paintball one.

The proposal to ban all handguns - except .22-caliber target pistols - would leave Britain with some of the toughest laws on private possession of guns.
Home Secretary Michael Howard told a packed House of Commons he would make sure the measures were passed as quickly as possible through parliament.
