One of the channels ran a story about a boy, 4, who was abducted in 1990 and was returned home 8 weeks later. i would like to read more about that - but cannot recall any names.

A few years back a youngster was taken and found alive and well many days or weeks later, locked up in a shed. As it was around the same time as some significant events in my own life, I do kind of think it was around the early 1990's. I think baby Abi (Griffith?) was around this time too, taken newborn from hospital.

the little boy in question was Ben Needham who vanished 16 years ago, the story is on this morning now

Smiffy - thanks but this was another little boy who was returned. I think his forst name was Scott.

The boy's name is Simon Jones, he disappeared in 1990. There is an interview with his mum on Sky News Online.

Ben Needham has never been found. After all this time. They think he was sold and bought up by someone in another country. Every now and again the tv shows photos to show what he would look like now. Think the same thing may have happened to little Maddie. But with all the reward money I do worry if she is safe now to be kept alive.

Sorry, no lilac, she won't have been taken to be brought up by someone else. She's too old for that as she can talk and has a memory. If they were targeting a youngster for that they would take a baby, and remember there were was a younger girl in the room.

A retired policeman on Sky explained last night that the room wasn't locked or broken into. It seems the little girl woke and wandered out. The dogs traced her scent to a local supermarket where it disappears. That points to an opportunist, which is why it is most likely local and the idea that she was spirited out of the country in hours is unlikely.
