Apparently police have arrested 3 men in connection with the above (the guy who died in Michael Barrymore's swimming pool). Their ages - 55 , 37 , and 32.
Now what do you think of that after all this time?

one is said to be Barrymore himself (age 55). Very strange; how could it take so long to come up with evidence? Watch this space.
I think that there was definatley more to this case than we have seen so far. God knows what could come out now but i bet it won't be pretty for Barrymore.
There must have been a huge mistake the first time round with regards to evidence etc..however I always thought that this case would linger a long while after the first suspects were released.

It appeared obvious to me that the police would be lying in wait for new evidence to surface. Of course anyone who was involved in this incident wouldn't be able to keep quiet for long, so new evidence would become available eventually.

I really feel for Stuart Lubbocks family. They need closure, which wasn't given to them originally.
there was an inquiry into the police handling of the case taking place by the IPCC which has now been put on hold following the arrests - this might have uncovered something amiss in the original case or simply talking to suspects again might have produced new evidence as the case was reopened in 2006.
its obvious somebody sexually assaulted the bloke whe ter this was consentual or not nobody will ever know but how come he ended up dead?only barrymore and his 2 mates know the answer to that question.100% respect to the lubbock family for fighting for justice for their son.
I really feel for his family. What a saga. I just hope they finally get some closure on the case.

kwicky my understanding at the time was that he was assualted using an object of some sort, hence no dna and extreme internal injuries.
Per the on-line Daily Mail, OK I know Daily Mail

Simon Cowells' brother was going to write a book about Barrymore, and there were tape recordings made of the conversations they had, including ones about this incident. They then fell out and the recordings were left in Cowells safe.
Recently the police found out about the tapes and over the weekend seized them.

Presumably this has led to todays events, the paper also names the other 2 men.
Sorry I don't know how to do link

Barrymore's big mistake was running away. No matter what, in a situation like that, you do not run away.

....and saying he couldn't swim, when there are photos of him swimming.
Basically...the one thing we cannot accept is cowardice.

The reports I read claim that he ran away on the night.

Wrong.

Whatever the circumstances, you have to be a grown up and face the consequences. It's entirely feasible that he had nothing to do with the death...however, if the reports are accurate - he showed appalling judgement.

As clarion says the technology today is allowing evidence that was unusable years ago to prove conclusively the guilt or innocence of suspects. How often have we seen cases 10-15yrs or even older being solved by the use of modern technology such as D.N.A.. Unfortunately no matter how hard they try (& I'm sure they do try dispite the critism they often get) the Police can't solve every crime overnight. I'm sure there must have been many cases were the Police have been absolutely certain of the guilty party but they just couldn't PROVE it with the evidence available at the time
