Is there anybody, anybody at all out there, who respects and admires TB for his open honesty, his Christianity (a goodun there), and openness, or is it just me ?

Good of you to pre-empt everybody else without asking them John, let's maybe just wait and see.

sorry, forgot to add:
in my humble opinion
Best joke of the year, so far.
I admired both his open honesty and his honest openness .... honesty!
why would anyone? After all, there are plenty of Christians, plenty of open people etc etc. What was unique about him was that he was prime minister, and the only reasonable question is whether anyone admires him for the way he did this job.

I imagine it's still just you, though.

Thank you Aschenbach.

And Lonnie, what is the joke ?
I thought you'd post 'Tongue in cheek', if you were serious, then I apologise, obviously your views are the opposite of mine.
Don't use his christianity for Christs sake. Islamic bombers are using religion to further their goals and unless their are 2 gods we are likely to indulge in everlasting conflict. His god will not save him from involvement in the cash for honours debacle.
giving the green light to blow iraqi babies to bits isnt very christian but there you go

leave the world alone whiffey and stop following the amercians
It was right up until the Bernie Ecclestone thing...he was doing really well up until that point.

And then there was cash for honours, Iraq and everything just seemed to go haywire.

I shall not forget the mood in London during the fist four years of his reign. He seemed to reflect the zeitgeist - and let's not overlook Northern Ireland?

Who of us who grew up in the 70s would've ever thought that the peace process would ever succeed.

Finally, he's the only leader in the western world who looks do-able in a pair of jeans.

There...I've said it.
sp you have gone down in my estimations. Tony Blair do-able? oh perleeeeaaase ;o)

Blair cannot be Christian. If he were he would hold the opinion that God is the only government. Man made governments and religion do not mix well at all.
