Is Britain about to take a supporting role with the US with a strike against Iran? The problem is the conservatives will follow the US like lemmings so a vote in the house if put forward by Labour will be like Iraq a done deal.

the u.s has got enough dealing with iraq never mind adding iran to its problems.ok the iranians may be developing a nuclear weapon and indeed it must be stopped IF ITS PROVED THEY ARE and there lies the problem they must have 100% evidence that they are indeed embarking on a nuclear weapons programme.if we had gone through iraq in 1990/91 we would not now be in this situation.we were in place to take saddam out then and we are now paying the price.
kwicky, I had a look at the link in your question, it's just a load of rantings ! Why go reading that load of bunk when there's Answerbank instead?
I can't see the Americans wanting to get involved in a land war in Iran.

I do think they might be planning an attack on nuclear installations in Iran either via cruise missiles or bombers. If that is the case they will want as much diplomatic support as they can muster.

They will find it exceptionally difficult driving a UN mandate through and without one they'll be open to accusations of illeagal aggression - Of course Bush is now a lame duck president on his second term so personally he's little to lose but if he judges wrong he could kill the republicans in the next elections.

Then there's the issue of foreign affairs so much of the American national debt is now held abroad that they are ironically vulnerable to the Chinese in this area, just as the UK were forced out of Suez by American threats of financial action so they'd need at least China's tacit approval.

Such are the complexities of things like this it's an awful lot more than "<grunt> bomb their nukes!!"

dyli795 that link you say is a load of rubbish is a quote from the Guardian
Cheney wants to attack Iran and he has more power than the chimp in charge.
O.K. I stand corrected , but when I clicked on the link it took me to all these comments from what came accross as malcontents. Quite odd in fact, it read like a load of Russio-Iranis trying to sound like southern U.S. rednecks or something, realy - wierd !
Guardian or not, there are a lot of unnamed 'sources' in that story. No doubt the Guardian trusts them, but you're allowed your suspicions, dyli
Yea, that latest link is a lot better, just tryed it. I must of had a bit of "hijacking" going on before. It was creepy !
Yea, it's sad but these days you just can't trust or believe anything til you see it and walk 'round it.
We are looking for weapons of mass nuclear destruction and we will keep looking until we can hide our acute embarrassment as in Iraq
What about all the wmd's in the US. And look whos in charge of those.
