we did our garden flooded and road was like a river plus we had water coming thorugh our roof bring some ceiling down in our bedroom. luckly we were insured!!

Are we reaping the rewards of massive flooding from the rivers Severn and Thames to name two because the goverment has not put enough resources into rising sea levels, or is it our fault for not buying property on a hillside?

My property is on a hillside - but now a 40' chunk of it is several meters further down the hill than it was a day ago. We had an average July's rain in 15 hours.
My car was parked right on the edge of the bit that disappeared - we managed to tow it out as 2 wheels were still on solid ground.
We are counting our blessings, while some folk are counting the number of skips they'll need for their ruined homes.

A small called Barry near us in Cardiff is underwater. 2 rivers burst the banks.

Feel really sorry for all the flood victims , must be awful to see everything destroyed , the government should put money in to flood defences etc.
