i think id rather have the keystone cops investigating than the portugese police.

I think I'm going to follow Mark Steel's line of thought on this.
im really sad to say this but i believe this child was killed very soon after she disappeared., and i so hope im wrong.
why should robert murat look distressed if he isnt involved, he's more likely to look it if he is.
"no expert on body language
- they don't show their emotion"
seems to me they go from one extreme to another -
but all that 'money' they are making on other peoples goodwill - as the last post comments a lot of parents abuse their children..
why is so much attention paid to this one child? - what about all the others that go missing/lost and are soon forgotten by the media..

Still think they are heavily involved more than they say..
I heard that there were foundations very near to the hotel complex that were filled in the day after she went missing.

Has anyone else heard this???
no!
I absolutely think that the chances of finding her killers/abductors now is extremely slim.

Looking at the known facts of the case, I find it difficult to believe that her parents were involved...

...and this is where it gets a bit complicated...I also find it difficult to believe that anyone else could've abducted her...and got away without a single witness seeing them.

So that just leaves us all in no man's land.

One last point, which I think might be relevent - we've all been brought up with Prime Suspect, Marple, Poirot, Inspector Morse and (Gawd help us) Rosemary & Thyme...I think that a significant number of people expect these crimes to be solved quickly 'like on the telly'.

When a crime isn't solved within the timescales we expect...it throws us.

Just a theory.
China Doll, excellent article by Mark Steel and judging by the comments on here, way over most peoples heads.
"why should robert murat look distressed if he isnt involved"

Funniest comment of the day, gina.

Perhaps it's just me, but I think I'd be fairly distressed if I'd been wrongly arrested for the abduction and murder of a child.

Maybe I'm just a wimp.
Well I thought it summed it all up quite nicely.

And was far better phrased than I could do.
Yes I agree that Mark Steel's atricle was excellent. It's just getting so confusing now, that it is probably best to start at the beginning and look nearer home. I find it incredible to imagine that parents could hurt their children, but it does happen, what other explanation is there,. There is absolutely no proof that the poor little girl was ever tucked up in her bed to start with!
I agree with last post... "we checked on her every half hour" - can they prove that?
and I agree with Mark Steele -
"And the DNA belongs to..." (a bass drum beats like a heart, we see the suspects' faces, we see them holding hands .... Kate & Gerry - the parents! ).
njok, if he's got nothing to hide i think he less likely to feel stressed
and he has never been arrested
All it takes is one moment of lost temper. It has happened many times before.
But, gina, isn't it fair to say that he'd be distressed even if he had no involvement in it?
thing is, if you had killed your kid, the last thing you would do is help create such a massive hoo haa, - bigger than has been seen before - you're far more likely to be caught that way...

although, there is the cliche of 'methinks they doth protest too much'...it is a known giveaway sign that liars often ''overdo'' the cover story, saying too much, too much detail, too rehearsed, wittering on, all helping the slip up.

mmm....
njok, surely it depends on the individual and how things affect them, we are all different in the way we are made and how we handle things
