Missing Madeleine

I don`t buy the Daily Express but am often drawn the the Front Page Headlines while waiting in a queue etc. Just about every day they seem to have a new disclosure in the case of missing Madeleine, which stangely is never mentioned on the television news nor other newspapers. Today, they announced the finding of a blood-stained syringe in the apartment - leading, I think, to some wild story about her parents injecting her for some reason - I then lost interest. What is the story behind the headline? Does any of their headlines really reveal anything?. I get the impression that the Madeleine story is being used by the Express in a pathetic ploy to get the paper sold on the strength of the front page. Am I wrong?

Hmmm, as i have said all along i think the parents have something to do with it.
The police along with the media obviously know something but wont disclose what they do know.
Your probably right about the story being made headline news to sell more papers.
There isnt much news around at the min, so i think basically anything could make front page.
I disagree, the parents have nothing to do with this sad story. I fear we will never know what happened to this little angel.
Problem is, we are so used to knowing the ins and outs of a cats bum when it comes to news in Britain i.e. the trial by media. We're not used to the portugese way of dishing out evidence!

So what we get are a lot of rumers because we're not getting enough official stories! Cant see the seringe thing being true, the mccans have not been made suspects, I think they would have by now!
I'm surprised the Express is giving as much coverage to Madelaine as they are what with the anniversary of Diana's death around the corner. They haven't stopped banging on about that since she died.
Some peopl;e are under the misunderstanding that because the parents are not showing any emotion publicly then they must have something to do with her disappearance, I personaly thing that anyone who believes this to be true, have no idea about the criminal mind therefore, as I've said before, and I'll keep on saying:
The Portugese Police would have briefed the parents that whoever kidnapped Maddie would get sick pleasure out of watching their anguish, so when attending any press conference to keep their composure and not give whoever did it the satisfaction of seeing them "break down". Does that make sense?
johnlambert - you are making sense. I completely understand that and don't hink they have anything to do with it. I just think that they are avaiding the grieving process. Its as if by doing all this media they are avoiding the time they have to 'give-up'.

I'm not being horrible, I'm a mother and do believe that they could be doing all of this out of guilt for leaving her or just a way of not facing the reality!
It's a scary thought that someone can be taken and then vanish into thin air, with no traces, possibly never to be seen again. Personally I can't see that it would have been the parents. The whole area was disected so there is surely no way they could have disposed of a body or anything. But you never know. Anything could have happened. It's a very strange set of circumstances.
Portugese should have let the British in sooner if you ask me. They were only there a day and found blood. What a shame all that possible evidence lost!
They had ALL three kids by IVF, it makes no sense to go through all that, then have the wee girl kidnapped or worse. I had/have friends who went through the IVF proccess (if that's the correct phrase) to have a child and failed, they were devistated when they were told they would be childless, so I suspect that Maddie was a much loved girl by her parents. If they are guilty of anything, it is neglect. Remember that for the rest of their lives they will be carrying around the knowledge that they put being first in a pub quiz before the safety and wellbeing of their eldest child. I would hate to carry that burden with me
Yes it is something they will have to carry with them. If it had happened to a different family who, lets say wern't doctors with money. We'd be carted off to court and have social services on our backs!
who said she has been abducted? no one, its all assumption
i should re phrase that post, who has any proof that she has been abducted?
I think its a bit of crocodile tears.

Didn't give a toss about the kids all the other nights on the holiday when they were left alone.

Am I the only one who saw a story saying there was building work going on nearby and the day after she disappeared a lot of foundations were filled in??
Didn't hear that about foundations, but I think it's probably been searched if it were true!
Foundations that were already dug and then filled with concrete the day after she disappeared
Yes, I agree the Express are using the headlines on Madeleine to sell the paper when there has been no new evidence, and no, I don't think the parents would have stayed in Portugal and almost run out of cash in the process, had they been guilty of harming her. They shouldn't have left her, but we've all done something stupid but most of us get away with it tho. My own daughter was taken from my garden when a toddler by neighbours children. They were just playing in their own house down the road but I was sick with fear before we found her.
but you didnt deliberately go out and leave your children in a strange country night after night did you
A fact which i'm sure they've regretted every minute of every day since Gina.
Does that make them guilty of her abduction then gina?
to johnlambert. you say they had been briefed by the portugese police not to show emotions. if it were my child i don't think any amount of briefing i got i would not be able to be so composed i would be devastated and would not even think about cameras on me i wouldn't be able to speak without crying.
